Lilia

The butterfly is a symbol that reminds us of change and transformation. It’s a beautiful creature, often connected with freedom and happiness, that has achieved being so beautiful when, starting as a tireless caterpillar has worked very hard to finally be the wonderful butterfly.
Her change from caterpillar to chrysalis and then to butterfly is the biggest and most amazing transformation observed in the animal kingdom. As amazing as our transformation can be!
Our caterpillar required much patience, time, food, respect, acceptance and mostly, much love to transform into a unique butterfly. The process of her complete transformation was based on 4 steps.
Firstly, we had to make her ”come our of her shell”, meaning to come out of her hiding spot, a stray almost blind animal living in the streets needs much patience to be able to trust, and they usually hide in a spot waiting day and night for their carer.
So, we had to come up with a whole plan to catch her and make her come out of her spot. After catching her we had to move to the second step, to feed the small ”caterpillar” enough for her to be able to make her ”cocoon”. Many pates, many cans of food and countless treats for many months for her to finally trust us.
For the next step, the ”chrysalis” step, Lilia used to hide under the furniture for a long time where she felt safe to make her cocoon and transform into a butterfly.
The final step is the one whose beauty cannot be described with words and only brings tears to the volunteers. A scared animal, not neutered that had never felt the human touch, that was afraid of noise and human hands transformed into the most amazing butterfly.
Now, she is the most human-centred cat. She wants to sleep on the bed with humans, to lay on the couch for pets, to purr and bump against your legs when you cook and search for someone to kiss.
This is our semi blind butterfly and she is finally searching for her forever home, we helped her transform and believe in the love of humans. Help her find her family!
